An Arkansas State Police (ASP) investigation into a former state trooper, 43 year-old Michael Valentin, was launched in June 2023 after concerns were raised about his interactions with teenage girls. The young women described repeated encounters with Valentin, including intimate physical contact, some of which occurred while he was on duty. The trooper was transferred from Troop I to Troop L following that investigation. In June 2024, new complaints surfaced, leading to his dismissal from the state police entirely in August.
