Virginia “Gool” Jeanette Ellis, a resident of Berryville, was born May 30, 1931, in Berryville, the daughter of Folk and Georgia (Brumley) Coger. She departed this life Thursday, Oct.10 (2013) at the age of 82 years.
She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She loved spending time with all of her family at her home. She made the best dressing in the world and she loved listening to music.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Ellis and Gary Ellis and wife, Alice, of Berryville; one daughter, Donna Hill and husband, Howard, of Berryville; niece, Paula Joe Williams and husband, Ken, of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Debbie Hill Williams, Kristie Hill Davis, Greg Hill, and Willy Ellis; four great-grandchildren, Tara Davis, Tate Patton, Willow Ellis, and Mariel Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On Aug. 31, 1946, she was united in marriage with Bobby D. Ellis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Folk and Georgia Coger; husband, Bobby Ellis; and one sister, Elizabeth Ragsdale.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
