People have forgotten, or in many cases never knew that during the dark years of World War II (December 1941-August 1945), life was definitely NOT “business as usual”. Even those in small town America, such as Harrison and Boone County, were affected in many ways. Obviously, families that had a loved one fighting on the front lines were touched in ways, often tragically. But beyond that, every aspect of daily life was affected.
