North Arkansas College (NAC) is hosting a Women in Manufacturing Meet and Greet on Thursday, June 10, at noon. Registration is required. Individuals can choose whether to attend in-person or online. The in-person meet and greet will be held at Northark’s North Campus located at 1320 N. Spring Road in Harrison in room N20. Individuals can also attend online via Zoom.
NAC alumni and females working in manufacturing career fields will talk about how the programs at the college provided the training needed to land and succeed at their jobs. Job placement for these careers is extremely high with students receiving job offers before they finish the program. NAC graduates who become manufacturing technicians earn $45K- $55K per year to start. The College offers programs in Manufacturing, Automation and Robotics, Electronics and Biomedical Electronics Technology. Biomedical Electronics Technology grads keep hospitals running and makes sure that all medical equipment is operating properly to keep people alive and well.
“NAC is actively working to meet employer demand for essential manufacturing employees, certainly both women and men are greatly needed in these important technician roles,” Don Sugg, NAC interim president remarked. “Junior and senior high school students can attend our Technical Center and by the time they graduate high school have accumulated 30 hours of manufacturing training and be eligible to get their OSHA Safety Certification at no cost to them,” he added.
