The annual community Thanksgiving service is scheduled for Tuesday evening, Nov.21. Batavia Assembly of God Church will host the event. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the service. We the attendees are to bring finger goods to enjoy after the service. We are very thankful for the good report Pastor Rickey received from his doctor visit on Monday of this week. No blocking of the arteries! more

NorthArk Drama, HHS Theatre Troupe 2715 and The Ozark Arts Council present “White Christmas” performed at the Historic 1929 Lyric Theater at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 1 through 3, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 4. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $12 for children when bought in advance; prices rise $3 if purchased at the door—$15 for children, $18 for seniors and students, and $21 for adults. Veterans and Active Duty Service Members receive a discount by choosing the Veteran discount ticket. more
Lead Hill School will host Oark during the homecoming game, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. The junior boys will play first, followed by the Homecoming Ceremony. Alumni that graduated in years that end in “3” will be recognized that night. more
Project WILD is an education program rooted in nature that helps educators bring the outdoors to their students. Participants learn about the natural world with hands-on experience they can pass on to their students. Participants will earn six ADE Professional Development hours and receive a curriculum guide with over 150 lessons. Admission is free. The training will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Saturday, Dec. 3. more
