Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, with burial at Maple Leaf Cemetery; Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home.  

Dolph Wayne Phillips, age 69, of Bear Creek Springs, (Harrison) passed peacefully to his eternal home with Christ on Tuesday, Jan. 17 (2017).

Dolph is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Roberta Phillips; his children, Cindy and husband Brian Ramsey, of Harrison, Wendy and husband Dan Evert, of Harrison, and Justin and wife Sarah Phillips, of Bentonville; his grandchildren, Brady Scott Ramsey, Kacie Beth Ramsey, Rocklin Wayne Phillips, Evangeline Jude Phillips and Josie Hope Phillips; his sister, Sandra and husband Mickey Whited, of Diamond City; his brothers, Larry and wife Harmoline Phillips, Eddie and wife Ada Phillips, and Don and wife Tammy Phillips, all of Valley Springs; his sister-in-law, Pam Phillips; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary Phillips and Mike Phillips.

Dolph was born Feb. 24, 1947, in Marshall, to James Ed and Maxine (Switzer) Phillips. He attended school at Western Grove and Valley Springs. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966. He served 18 months in South Korea and was honorably discharged in 1972. Dolph met Roberta Howard, and after a short courtship, they were married on July 12, 1969. He graduated from Vo-Tech in 1976 with training in auto body repair. He loved to work on and paint vehicles. He was known to be a hard worker and was willing to do any job to provide for his family.  He raised cattle, restored tractors, and loved to attend auctions. He was known to be a master at fishing, a grand storyteller, and had a caring heart for others who were down on their luck. He was a member of Bear Creek Springs Baptist Church.  

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison. 

Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21st, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison. Pastor Mark Enloe will officiate the ceremony.  

Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery with Harry Vaughn, Shane Silver, Don Qualls, Jim Carter, Jack Shaddox, Brian Ramsey and Dan Evert as pallbearers.  

Honorary pallbearers will be George Montgomery, O.D. Chaney Sr., Dr. Gary Linker, Dr. Blake Chitsey, Amanda Chitsey, Keith Switzer, Joe Honeycutt, the staff of Hillcrest Rehab, the staff of Clarity Pointe, and military service friends: Willis Pickett, Derrell Parsons, and Harry Vaughn.
