The Northwest Arkansas EHC Quilt workshop held the first of several quilting sessions in a new venue, in the Signature Bank Community Room. Anstaff Bank was the corporate sponsor for the event. The group appreciates the willingness of the community to see the value in continuing our Quilt Workshop and Quilting History. Over 110 quilters attended the March 2nd opening of the Quilt Workshop. The guest speakers for the day were Wapiti Mefford from the 4H State Office of Newton County, Rachel Whitker from the Shilo Museum of Ozark History discussing “Quilt History” and the Newton County Sewphisticated Scrapy Quilters EHC Club. Sewphisticated Scrapy Quilters discussed “Saving Our Memories in Quilting". Remember Me Quilt & Fabric Shop of Mountain Home was the vendor for the session. They brought materials to continue their shop's traditional commitment to serving the quilters and community at the workshop. The vendors, sponsors, speakers and participants strive to make quilting the creative, relaxing, and rewarding event it should be! The group extends an ivitation to come, enjoy, and become an “All American Quilter.” Attendees share and learn something new at every session. The next presentation will be held Thursday, March 16, from the Boone County Quilter at the Signature Bank Community Room. There will be an afternoon session with this workshop. The topic will be Landscape Quilting. The workshop is always free and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The next vendor will be Grana’s Front Porch from Conway. Workshops will continue March 16, 23,30 and April 6 with new topics each day. March 23 special guest will be Missouri Star Quilt without a vendor.
