A caller reported finding a bag containing a knife and a red substance at Minnie Harris Park. An officer said the bag did contain a knife and some old sausage links, but it was disposed of properly. more
LITTLE ROCK — Governor Sanders has authorized a crew of 10 wildland firefighters from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division to assist the State of Mississippi with their ongoing wildfire suppression efforts. Since Aug. 1, the Mississippi Forestry Commission has responded to over 760 fires that have burned over 14,163 acres. more

A man on South Ash called to report his mother went to the house and took his WiFi router and left in a vehicle. An officer spoke to the mother, who said she was moving her belongings from the residence. She was a legal resident at the property, so the caller was advised to seek an eviction notice. more

A man on East Walters called to talk to an officer about someone stealing his medication. An officer spoke to the caller and told him he could file a formal complaint after he sobered up. He declined a formal complaint because there was a warrant out for his arrest. He was advised of his options at the time. He called back the following morning to talk to an officer again and said he would go to the HPD to file a formal complaint. About 6 p.m. that day, he called again saying he wanted to turn himself in on the BCSO warrant for probation violation and would be sitting at the intersection of East Washington and North 3rd Street. He also said he wanted to pursue the complaint regarding the stolen medication, but he refused to fill out the complaint form until a lawyer was present. An officer advised him of his options in case he changed his mind. more

A caller reported a 19-year-old male subject was intoxicated in the Walmart parking lot. She said she pulled over to talk to him, then he got out of the vehicle with a gun. She said she left the area. An officer investigated and said the gun was never pointed at anyone. The suspect was taken home by a friend. more

The test message was sent nationwide via WEA to cellular phones and over EAS to radio and television stations, beginning at approximately 1:20 p.m. CST. more
