Influenza-related deaths reported to the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) this flu season have reached 149 (PCR confirmed flu deaths at 62), according to the department's latest report. It was noted that of those deaths, 75.8% of those persons were not vaccinated against the virus. There were no PCR confirmed flu deaths for Week 12.

By all accounts, Chester the bull lived a full life. For many years he spent his days at Simon Farms tending to the ladies who had dozens of his offspring. Recently, a younger bull unexpectedly challenged Chester for rights to be king of the pasture. Normally, this involves little more than huffing, puffing and the occasional, minor head butt. Like a warrior, Chester refused to back down and in a freak accident, severely injured his leg and had to be put down.
