A contingent of US Army Reserve officers and staff were in Harrison Tuesday, March 19, planning for an Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) mission officially named Ozark Wellness. This medical mission to be carried out at the Jasper School and Kingston School campuses will provide training opportunities to Army Reserve medical units while providing incidental benefits to local residents via no-cost healthcare. more

Jerree Winn has spent most of her life in the cosmetology world. Now, with over four decades of experience, she has announced her retirement. Winn's journey began at 15 when she first started cosmetology school. She pursued her training off and on, eventually graduating from Lyle‘s School of Cosmetology in Fresno, Calif. in 1981. more

Well it is the beginning of stuff starting up for spring, the flowers are coming up and blooming and the bradford pear trees are the most beautiful this year. We went down and had family pictures done for my birthday and I had a balloon with a candle that got loose on March 2nd and the last I seen it was heading toward to Inon Bridge. If you see it I like to know how far it got. more
Greetings from Capps. Spring is in full swing with temperatures in the 80s again last week. My son told me they were expecting a foot of snow in Denver, I don't miss that but wouldn't mind some more rain, as we only got about .8 of an inch last week. more

The Batavia Friendship Club met at Batavia Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on March 4 at Noon. There were 17 ladies present. We began our meeting with prayer and Pledge of Allegiance followed by a pot luck luncheon and great fellowship. more
An iconic home located in the heart of Harrison has been dismantled this week. The house at 1402 Speer Drive was built in 1874. It has been standing tall in a clearing surrounded by virgin timber for generations — a quiet reminder of years gone by, as the town has gone through much growth and many changes around it. more

Members of the Grubb Springs Extension Homemakers Club met Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM to make prayer pockets to be taken to Three Wishes for Ruby’s Residents. President Dorothy Dinnean opened the regular monthly meeting at 12:30 PM. Roll call was answered by members naming “the most romantic gift I ever received.” Roses topped the list. more

Lead Hill Student, Hunter Ricketts shot a 292 and finished 1st place in the High School Boys Division at the State Archery Tournament in Hot Springs! He will qualify to compete in the National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky! Congratulations, Hunter! We are so proud of you. more
