The Alpena Future Business Leaders of America program hosted their first FBLA College and Career Fair to celebrate Career and Technical Education Week Wednesday, Feb. 15. Twenty-four colleges and businesses attended the fair that hosted approximately 230 students in grades 7-12. Students were given “Bingo Cards” and when they visited each booth, a business representative stamped their card. If a student filled their entire bingo card, they were entered into a drawing to potentially win multiple giveaways sponsored by Alpena FBLA and some of the businesses in attendance. Students got to visit with college representatives from College of the Ozarks, The University of Arkansas, North Arkansas College, and New Beginnings School of Cosmetology. They also got to hear from business leaders from various backgrounds including banking, travel and tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. They were honored to have representatives from the following businesses: Carroll County Extension Office, WalMart, FedEx, WestRock, Midwest Equipment, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center, Wabash, Wilson Combat, Arvest Bank, The Learning Center of North Arkansas, Boone County Heritage Museum, Stone Bank, Ritter, Penmac, Equity Bank, Harrison Fire Department, Explore Harrison, Carroll Electric, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Army Recruiters, and a visit from Bob Largent with the Harrison Chamber of Commerce.
