The annual Hilltop quilt auction to benefit the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department will be held on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 5 p.m. with a potluck dinner, followed by the auction at 7 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary have hand quilted several beautiful quilts to offer this year, as well as some machine quilted ones. There are other donated items that will be offered as well. Everyone is invited to come out and support the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department. more

The WindowLympics started on Friday, Oct. 31 and will wrap up on Sunday, Nov. 2. According to organizers, the event can be broken down into three days and three categories: celebrate, compete, and connect. more

Boone and Newton County Retired Teachers and Support Staff hosted the Area 7 Annual Meeting on September 23, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Harrison. Diana Kolman welcomed everyone and made introductions. Claude Whited led the pledge to the flag, and Pastor Laura West gave the invocation and blessing. more
