This so far has been a long week and not much fun. I went to the walk-in clinic Monday at Green Forest. They found out I was short on iron and go to the Berryville Hospital at 8:30 a.m. and get a blood transfusion done. Everyone said I will feel better. I hope so cause I have been having dizzy spells a lot. I need prayer. more

When Priscilla Collier was just a young girl, her grandfather said, "This girl is really going to help people." His encouraging words have proven to be true. Priscilla is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Oncology Department at the Claude Parrish Cancer Center at NARMC. She continues to advance her nursing education and develop her skills while helping her friends and neighbors navigate their cancer treatments right here in Harrison. She and her husband, Brady, have one son, who is a senior at Harrison High School. more
The Hilltop Community will host a Christmas Bazaar and Pie Auction on December 7, beginning at 5 p.m. There will be all kinds of Christmas items for sale, including handmade gifts. Potluck snack hour will begin at 5 p.m. The Pie Auction will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the cake walk. Music will be provided by Jake Walker and friends. more

The Arkansas Division United Daughters of the Confederacy held their 129th Annual Division Convention in Fort Smith, Sept. 24-26, with District II chapters being the hostesses. Thursday afternoon kicked off with Dee Burr presenting a program on “Finding & Proving your Ancestors—The Who, the How and the Where of Supplementals.” Then Varina Jefferson Davis #252 hosted the President’s Open House in honor of Mrs. Karla Fry, Arkansas Division President. Dinner was served and followed by an Executive Board Meeting. more

The Boone County Regional Airport (HRO) recently received historic federal funding, secured for a terminal upgrade. According to the FAA, the $7 million grant funds the construction of a 7,100 square feet replacement terminal building, which allows for expansion and modernization to accommodate essential air service, security screening, and ADA accessibility. more
