We lucked out over the 4th of July weekend, weather wise that is. On July 3, my cousin Carolyn, daughters Darlene and Nancy and myself enjoy fireworks at the Golf course with a wonderful crowd. Everyone was so generous to donate to the Fireworks. We appreciate Wayne and Shar for the effort it took to put on this event. more

Well it is Taco Tuesday, a beautiful rainy day. I am sure glad I got my stuff back in the barn. I like to decorate for every holiday. I put Valentines Day to Christmas in tubs and then put them in order, it took me 74 years to get it started and want to have a yard sale and get my car fixed but July is never ending month with Bible School coming up July 22 to July 26 and then John’s cousin husband Jim Trowbridge 74 went to his heavenly home on July 7 in Kansas City, Kansas. He had a triple bypass on his heart on May 6 and he lived 2 month and 1 day after surgery. He had other troubles. The family has our deepest sympathy. more

The Area Agency on Aging was honored for their 45th Anniversary by the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce Thursday in Harrison. The Area Agency on Aging serves seniors, veterans, and caregivers. Services include adult daycare centers, care coordination, home delivered meal services, senior housing in some areas, plus many other services. more
Members from the Harrison Colony of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented a flag certificate to Johnson Manufacturing in Harrison. The certificate of award was presented for the proper use, correct display and patriotic presentation of their United States flag. more
Loyal and Charlene Breedlove, of Low Gap, recently lost everything in a house fire. Their home was struck by lightning on April 26. The couple were not home at the time of the fire. The family’s dog, Amos, did not survive. more

ROGERS — Arkansas 4-H members tested their grilling skills at the Arkansas 4-H State Barbecue Cook-Off, held June 21-22 in Rogers at the 64th Annual Poultry Festival. Sarah Lamb, 18, was the first-place chicken barbecue winner, and Laney Slate, 18, was the first-place turkey barbecue winner. more

Rande Rappuhn grew up in and spent the majority of her life in Arizona. Rappuhn is now an attendance manager for a call center, a career which helped bring her to Arkansas. "In the last few years, I was fortunate enough to be able to work remotely which allowed the option to relocate," she shares. more
