The statewide gas price average in Arkansas was $2.78 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel on Thursday, according to the AAA Arkansas Weekend Gas Watch. That price is five cents less compared to that day last week and is 13 cents less per gallon compared to that day last year.

Members of Harrison High School’s Thespian Troupe 2715 attended the Arkansas Thespian Festival in Russellville recently. The Arkansas Thespian Festival is a gathering of school theater students from across the state who have been inducted into the Thespian honor society. During the 3-day event, students attend theater workshops as well as present their own works through one-act and full-length productions.

LITTLE ROCK — Proposed changes to Arkansas’ citizen-led ballot initiative process advanced through the state Legislature on Monday, with more movement expected throughout the week. Two bills sponsored by Sen. Kim Hammer, R-Benton, passed a House committee for the second time after amendments and will next go to the House floor. A third bill passed the House and will return to a Senate committee.
